Troubleshooting Data Import and Export in Zoho CRM

1. Duplicate and Skipped Records

In case of a 'duplicate record' error, you need to verify in the Approve Leads section. For records created through Web Forms, API, or Imports, these might not appear in a Global Search. As for skipped records, the download option will not be available if the error counts exceed 10,000.

2. Lead Assignment Issues

Leads may not be assigned correctly if you use names instead of email addresses or Lead Owner IDs. Additionally, leads assigned to inactive users will default to the importer. Ensure that users are active and using appropriate identifiers for correct lead assignment.

3. Automation and Assignment Rules

Automation is available only for files with fewer than 10,000 rows. If this option is missing, split your import file into smaller batches. Similarly, assignment rules won’t trigger if the Update existing Leads only option is chosen.

4. Character Encoding Issues

The special characters may not appear unless the file is saved in UTF-8 encoding. While exporting the data, import that file with the UTF-8 setting in Excel to avoid garbled text.

5. Undo Import Option

The Undo Import feature is available for new lead additions but not for updated records. This option is accessible for up to 30 days.
